I really have no excuse for this deviation, it's a result of my all out sci-fi geekness So I watched 'Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow' and I figured I really wanted to make something in that style. I actually fogot about it till I did get a nice 3 shot panorama of a bautiful sky and my geek inside remebered my previous idea. So yeah, I just assembled the panorama, got some stock pictures of planes from sxc.hu and went for it. Of course I still needed the enemy planes, wich I did model and render in Bleder 2.41. Took me ages to learn how to model in Blender (Last time I did any 3D was back in the days when Half Life was just released ) Anyway I finally got my bird like flying wing thingies and just added them to the manip. Sounds simple took me ages though, and I'm still not happy with the enemy planes
So please excuse this mindless result of utter geekness
Great work! Like you I'm a big fan of the movie, even though it wasn't a huge box office hit, which makes me like it even more. FYI the pre-production posters actually showed either a Mk I, II or V as Joe Sullivan's ride.
This is an amazing peice of artwork. It being a photomanip make it all the better too, as you don't often see photomanipulations with such a creative idea.
I think you did a great job with using Blender for those sci-fi aircraft. They remind me a lot of the Stargate movie ones, but that was probably what you were after. You've made it tell a great story too seeing as you have the other plane turning off because it got hit. We just know that the second sci-fi aircraft is going to finish it off.
Great job!
Great work
xD!
o.o
I feel sorry for the guy that got hit. Great manip!
